Why Are You Guys So Different From Other Guitar Sites?

We believe that a guitar revolution is in need. Remember the Classic days with Clapton, Hendrix, Page, and Beck? Go back even further to the Jazz era, where masterful improv and slick instrumental melodies drove the song and provided the mood. These guys were revered. It was as if they weren’t worried about if they could play a lick as fast or loud as someone else; the music just naturally flowed out of them. They became lost within their own inner voice. Just look at their faces when they play. They just get “in the zone.” No thinking. No worries. Just pure music. Jimi was a horrible singer, but yet his music was pure and innovative.

The instrument and the song were the centerpieces. These days there are more talented guitar players out there than ever, yet songs like “Soulja Boy” (love the dance, hate the song) and other wastes of air time, are ruling the charts. Why is the talent level so much higher, yet quality of popular music so much lower? Does this bother anyone else besides me?
